Handmade Carpet Persian Nomadic Ghasqay Wool 266X148

DESCRIPTION

Shiraz is the largest city in southern Persia, an important shopping mall that manages almost all of southern Persia's handmade carpets. Very close to the city of Shiraz is the city of Persepolis where Alexander the Great arrived and lived in the last years of his life. Shiraz's plethora of carpets comes from its wider periphery, Fars, in which they live in renowned tribes, mainly nomadic, Quasqai and
Hams. Their carpets are sought after and famous all over Europe, known as Quasqai and Gabbeh (which in Persian means first).

In handmade quasqai the basic color is the dark red that creates an amazing contrast to the beige. The designs are abstract with geometric patterns that represent birds, trees and flowers, and many are influenced by Persepolis monuments. The pile, the warp and the weft are woolen and the knots, which are Turkish style, have a high density, features that make them very durable. They come from renowned weaving, who know how to give artistic expression to the carpet. A special choice that will bring the Persian high art to your home.
