Bag Cleaning Guide
The bags are one of the biggest sources of germs! Research has shown that a bag that is not cleaned often accumulates more germs than a toilet! This may surprise you, but if you consider how many surfaces it touches daily as it accompanies you on your outings, you will realize that your bag definitely needs regular cleaning.

How to clean your bag:
Cleaning a bag depends on the material it is made from. Each material requires different care to look like new and to avoid damage. First, check if there is a washing instructions label on the bag and follow them. Otherwise, consult the guide below, and be sure that your bag will be cleaned and regain the shine and vibrancy it had when you first acquired it!
Fabric bags:
Fabric bags are easier to clean, although the manufacturer's instructions must be taken into account. This category often includes school bags, which you know very well get stained with all kinds of messes instantly. If you are allowed to put it in the washing machine, do so following the instructions on the label, while for hand cleaning, follow these steps:
Step 1. If it has a removable lining, take it out and wash it according to the manufacturer's instructions. If the lining is not removable, use a vacuum cleaner on a low setting with the special nozzle attachment to "suck up" the dust and debris trapped inside.
Step 2. Use a soft brush to remove any residue and stains from the outer surface of the bag. Be sure to use circular movements without applying excessive pressure, so as not to wear out the fabric.
Step 3. Next, fill a bowl with warm water and add a small amount of mild detergent.
Step 4. Use a soft cloth or sponge to gently clean the surface of the bag with the water and detergent mixture.
Step 5. Let the bag air dry naturally, avoiding direct sunlight or artificial heating.

Leather bags:
Leather bags are a popular and elegant choice, but cleaning them requires special attention, as leather is a sensitive material that is not ideal for contact with harsh detergents.
Step 1. Before starting to clean the bag, make sure you have removed all items from the interior, and then use a soft cloth or a soft brush to remove dust and other kinds of dirt that have accumulated on the surface of the leather.
Step 2. To keep your leather bag clean, shiny, and safe, the best thing to do is to use a special leather cleaner. Use a soft cloth and soak it with the liquid or paste for leather cleaning. Then clean it, using gentle circular motions. For corners or seams, you can use a cotton swab.
If you do not have a specialized leather cleaner, you can dissolve a drop of mild soap in a little water and soak the cloth there, following the steps above.
Step 3. Try to wet your bag as little as possible by wringing the cloth well before contacting it with the leather. If moisture is created, wipe it off immediately with a dry cloth, as moisture can damage the leather.
Step 4. Allow the bag to dry naturally, away from direct sunlight and artificial heat sources, such as heaters or hair dryers.

Woven straw or jute bags:
Woven bags are an elegant choice, especially for the summer months, but cleaning them is a rather difficult matter. They are usually not suitable for the washing machine, which is why we list the steps you should follow to make them look more beautiful and vibrant than ever.
Step 1. If it has a removable lining, remove it and wash it according to the instructions on the label. If the lining is not removable, you can "suck up" all the dust and debris by using a vacuum cleaner set to a low program and fitting the special nozzle.
Step 2. Regarding the outer surface, you can either use the vacuum cleaner again in the manner described above, or wipe the surface of the bag with a damp cloth to remove dust and other unwanted contaminants.
Step 3. For stubborn stains, add a few drops of dish detergent or mild soap to a bowl of warm water. Then dip a toothbrush into the mixture and gently scrub the stained area of the bag in the direction of the woven fibers.
Step 4. Wipe the area with a clean damp cloth to remove the stain and soap. Allow to air dry naturally, away from direct sunlight, and do not use a hairdryer or other artificial heat sources.
